Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu, better known by his stage name Sidhu Moose Wala, was an Indian singer, rapper, actor and politician associated with Punjabi music and Punjabi cinema. He started his career as a songwriter for the song “License” by Ninja, and began his singing career on a duet song titled “G Wagon”.

Sidhu Moose Wala had contested this year’s Punjab assembly election on a Congress ticket from Mansa and was defeated by AAP candidate Vijay Singla by a huge margin of 63,000 votes. Vijay Singla was recently sacked by Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann over charges of corruption.Condoling the Punjabi singer’s death, Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala tweeted, “Deeply shocked at the broad daylight murder of Sidhu Moose Wala. Punjab and Punjabis across the world have lost a talented artist with mass connect, who could feel people’s pulse. My heartfelt condolences to his loved ones and fans across the world.”
The Congress on Sunday (May 29, 2022) condoled the death of its Punjab candidate Sidhu Moose Wala and called it a “terrible shock”. Taking to Twitter, Congress’ official handle said that “the murder of Sidhu Moose Wala, Congress candidate from Punjab and a talented musician, has come as a terrible shock to the Congress party and the entire nation.”
Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala, who contested the state elections on a Congress ticket, was shot dead in the state’s Mansa district today. His police security was withdrawn yesterday.
Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu, popularly known by his stage name Sidhu Moose Wala, was driving with two of his friends to their village in Mansa when the attack took place.
