According to MPD officials, the remains of a missing Madisonville woman were found by Madisonville Police Department and Monroe County Sheriff’s Office crews.

Investigators said that a missing Tennessee woman had been found dead in a remote area of Monroe County.
The Madisonville Police Department said that Chelsie Walker, 24, was reported missing on October 31, although she was last seen two days earlier at home in Tellico Plains.
Detectives from the department and the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office launched an investigation into Walker’s disappearance and announced that her remains had been found on Sunday.
The department said two suspects are in custody, although it did not identify them or tell what charges they face.
“This is still an active investigation and more information will be released later,” the department said.
Tellico Plains police, Vonore police, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, and the District Attorney’s Office assisted in the investigation.
